A Commerce Currency That Asks Who is Acting

How KAELUM made every agent provable, every sensitive action accountable and every payment visible.

By Greggar Deterville, Founder and CEO, KAELUM Technologies Ltd

Knowing Who Logged in is not Knowing Who is Acting

Every payment system on earth was built to answer one question: is this the right person logging in? That question is no longer enough.

Ai agents are starting to shop, book and pay on people's behalf. A login can be borrowed, a session can be hijacked, and an agent can act inside an account it was never meant to control. The moment that matters is not the login. It is the second before money moves, a payee changes or customer data leaves the building.

The industry knows it. In October 2026, European payment schemes formed the Local Payments Council for Agentic Commerce to set standards for how people authorise Ai agents and how those agents are verified. Infrastructure, not headlines, will decide how far agentic commerce scales.

KAELUM has built that infrastructure. Every feature below is built and in pre-launch testing, governed by K.A.T.E., KAELUM's Ai engine running exclusively on Claude by Anthropic. One principle runs through all of it: an agent should never be the thing that decides whether money moves. Rules decide, and when any check is unavailable, the money waits for a person.

Signed Agent Attestations: an Agent that can Prove Who it Works for

When an Ai agent arrives at a shop, a bank or a payment rail, the business on the other side has one question: who does this agent act for, and what is it allowed to do? Until now, the honest answer has been "trust us". KAELUM now gives a better one.

A KAELUM holder can ask for a signed attestation: a short-lived, tamper-proof statement that their agent acts for them, under a live mandate, for one named business and up to an amount they choose.

  • Anyone can check it. A merchant, a bank or a payment rail can verify it without a card network and without a KAELUM account.
  • It expires quickly. Minutes, not months, and never longer than the authority behind it.
  • It can be revoked instantly. The moment the holder withdraws it, it fails every check, even though it was genuinely signed.
  • It protects privacy. The business learns that the agent is authorised and how far. It never learns the holder's identity or how much authority they have left, and two businesses cannot link the same person.
  • It never moves money. It is proof of authority, not a payment.

We tested it end to end. An attestation was issued for a shop, capped below the mandate's own limit, verified as valid, then revoked and rejected seconds later.

The Sensitive Action Gate: the Second Before Money Moves

Some actions deserve more than a password. Before a redemption to a bank account, before an external Ai agent is given permission to pay, before an agent mandate is granted and before customer data is exported, KAELUM now stops and asks: who is really acting here, and should this go ahead?

The gate returns one of four answers, and every answer is logged with its reasons:

AnswerWhat happens
AllowNothing looks unusual, so the action goes ahead
ConfirmThe holder confirms with their passkey: Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello or a security key
HoldA named person reviews it first, and nothing moves until they do
DenyThe action cannot go ahead, for example an agent trying to withdraw money

It tells people and agents apart, and it notices the patterns that come before fraud: an unfamiliar device, an unfamiliar country, a recent security change or a recently changed bank account. Some lines are never crossed. An agent can never withdraw money or export customer data. A person must.

The gate is enforced by the platform itself, not by the screen, so it cannot be bypassed. Even approving a held action needs the reviewer's own passkey.

When an Agent gets it Wrong, the Evidence is Already There

Agents will make mistakes. The question is what happens next. Most payment systems were never designed for a purchase that a person asked for, but a machine carried out.

KAELUM customers can now raise two new kinds of dispute: "My Ai agent bought something I did not ask for" and "My Ai agent chose the wrong item". When they do, the case arrives with the facts attached:

  • the authority the agent was acting under, and whether it was still active;
  • whether the customer confirmed the purchase themselves;
  • whether the purchase stayed within the agent's limit;
  • what the customer originally asked for.

The case also suggests where responsibility most likely sits: the merchant, the customer's own confirmation, the agent's operator, or a closer look by KAELUM. It is a starting point, never a verdict. A person decides every dispute.

Payment Health: One View of How Money is Moving

Payment experts agree on what the next generation of payment systems needs: smarter routing, real-time monitoring, automated reconciliation and strong controls. KAELUM already routes every top-up and payout to the best rail on cost, success rate and risk, and checks every balance against its ledger each day. Now it has the view that ties those together.

Payment Health shows, in one place:

  • the success rate of every payment rail, day by day;
  • the most common reasons a payment fails;
  • repeat requests and duplicate notifications stopped before they could pay or credit twice;
  • any payment stuck in flight;
  • everything waiting for a person, from redemptions to held actions;
  • the latest daily reconciliation.

It is the view a payment partner asks to see before it trusts a new platform. And because KAELUM is pre-launch, it is honest about it: every figure today comes from test activity, and the page says so.

A Legal Counsel that Shows its Sources

K.A.T.E.'s Legal Counsel agent drafts contracts, policies, risk reviews, intellectual property checks and investor due diligence. It now works the way a careful lawyer does:

  • The answer first. Every output opens with the bottom line and what to do next.
  • Two kinds of risk, kept apart. Legal risk and business friction are rated separately, because a clause can be legally sound and still stop a deal.
  • Every claim labelled. Each point says where it came from: your own documents, a regulator's website, a web source to check, or general knowledge to verify.
  • No invention. If something cannot be confirmed, it says so rather than filling the gap.
  • Escalation drafted, not sent. Serious issues come with a ready-to-send question for the person who must decide.

Its regulatory monitor now searches the live web and returns only developments it can source and link to, rather than a quota of updates. Every agent in KAELUM, legal included, runs on Claude by Anthropic. And every output ends the same way: a qualified solicitor reviews, verifies and decides.

Built to the Questions Europe is Now Standardising

The Local Payments Council for Agentic Commerce, formed by PPRO, BLIK, Bancontact, the European Payments Initiative and DIAS, has named five areas that agentic payments must get right. KAELUM has a working answer for each of them:

Focus areaKAELUM today
Out-of-band authorisation and session hand-offAgents hand off to a checkout where the person approves; larger agent payments need their passkey
Agent identity and attestation for non-card railsSigned agent attestations that any merchant, bank or rail can verify
Consent, mandates and delegated authorityScoped, time-limited, revocable mandates, confirmed by passkey, with a permanent evidence trail
Disputes, refunds and liabilityAgent-specific disputes that arrive with the evidence attached
Discoverability and agent-surface eligibilityA public guide that lets any Ai agent find participating merchants and price a basket before checkout

KAELUM is not a member of the Council, and nothing here implies its endorsement. We designed our approach so that it can follow the Council's standards once they are published.

Available to Every Business that Moves Money

The Sensitive Action Gate protects KAELUM's own customers, and it is now available to other businesses through KAELUM for Business. Payment apps, platforms, credit unions, banks and online businesses can send each sensitive action to the gate and receive the same four answers, with the reasons, from rules they set themselves. Their customers' details are never stored in readable form, and their own systems stay in control of every decision.

The future of payments will not be decided by whose Ai is smartest. It will be decided by whose Ai can be trusted. K.A.T.E. governs the rails. You govern the spend.

Crypto is powered by Blockchain. KAELUM is powered by Ai.
